One of the findings in this COVID-19 pandemic is the spread of false information that embarrasses people. Especially for rural and illiterate populations like those of Benin (63%). To compensate for this, ReNOPAL (Pamoja Benin) and its partners have chosen to use the pictorial supports by creating awareness posters in French and in four (4) national languages: Fon, Goun, Adja and Guin. These posters distributed to local elected officials and to rural communities in the intervention areas of the Support Program for Decentralized Literacy Management (PAGEDA) in Benin funded by Swiss Cooperation. They support the public information actions on the disease and the means of protection.
On another level, several member organizations of ReNOPAL (e.g: RACINES, Sian’Son, etc.) have carried out studies and awareness-raising actions accompanied by the distribution of materials (Hand Washing Devices, hydro-alcoholic gels, masks, etc.). ).
All of these actions will help to limit community contamination of COVID-19 and support the government in the fight against the pandemic in the country.
